This unique enamelled hanging lamp is a hand-made steel lampshade of very high quality and beautifully heavy.
Developed in Great Britain in 1926 for use in mills used to produce cotton and wool. This model provides a smooth flat light field for all areas and general lighting as well as work and dining areas. If you look obliquely into the hood, it is best to combine this fixture with a head mirror lamp .

Deze efficiënt vormgegeven lampenkappen werden van origine veel toegepast in Brits molens en fabrieken toen deze voor het eerst voorzien werden van elektriciteit. Midden jaren 20 werden deze lampen veel toegepast in kledingfabrieken waar ze boven de productietafels hingen. De opening aan de bovenzijde diende om de kooldraden hun warmte kwijt te laten raken en zo hun levensduur te verlengen. Tegenwoordig is dat niet meer nodig aangezien LED lampen niet zo warm worden.
