Elio-Martinelli-light-designer

Elio Martinelli werd in 1921 in Lucca geboren.

After attending industrial school, he graduated from
Institute of Fine Arts in Florence as a set designer and over the years
he contributes with his creativity to the development of his father Plinio's activity in the lighting sector.

After several years and several experiences in set design, he started his professional activity in the studio in the center of Lucca.

In the 1950s he started production and the first catalog.

During these years Elio Martinelli brings his simple and strict
inspiration and stimulates the company that becomes the reference point for Italian design in the field of lighting. Known both in Italy and abroad, Elio Martinelli starts working with renowned designers in this sector to obtain awards and recognition.

Simplicity, geometry and nature with its numerous shapes have always been the inspiration of Elio Martinelli. It is a growth of insights using new materials, such as methacrylate, tested on different models from the very beginning of the manufacturing and design activities.

Het is een zoektocht naar nieuwe ideeën, nieuwe technologieën en productiesystemen rekening houdend met de constante evolutie van lichtbronnen.

During these years Elio Martinelli brings his simple and strict
inspiration and stimulates the company that becomes the reference point for Italian design in the field of lighting. Known both in Italy and abroad, Elio Martinelli starts working with renowned designers in this sector to obtain awards and recognitions.
